Brooke is a young professional based out of the beautiful Bolinvar farm in Middleburg, VA. She has competed in both FEI Eventing and Dressage and is a USDF Bronze Medalist. Although she primarily focuses on Eventing, she regularly fox hunts and attends both dressage and jumper shows. Her barn consists of both training and sales horses ranging from young horses starting their riding careers to schooled upper level horses and just about everything in between. She also believes in a very strong ground work foundation and regularly goes back to working with the horses on the ground. Brooke likes to take a hands on approach to her students and will be there with you every step of the way to help you grow as a rider and horseman. Brooke can also help you learn the tools that you need to run a successful barn.

The working student is expected to work energetically and enthusiastically for 6 days a week in exchange for lessons, housing, board and training on his or her own horse. The working student is a critical part of the BBE team and is expected to search for ways to help the team accomplish daily goals. Specific tasks such as stall cleaning, turning horses outside, blanketing horses, grooming horses and feeding will be assigned to the working student, and the student is expected to fulfill these responsibilities with great care and attention to detail. Taking care of horses is a lifestyle and there are no specific hours, although we do our best to keep most work days within the hours of 7 am to 5 pm.

The ideal candidate is over 18, has their own reliable transportation and has their own horse. Don't have your own horse? We can help you find one to lease for the duration of your stay or help you find your perfect match to buy. The candidate should be comfortable handling all types of horses from the ground and have the ability to at least ride walk/trot/canter in an enclosed arena. Although this is an unpaid position, there is opportunity for advancement within BBE's program for the right individual.

If you think this might be the right position for you, contact Brooke now!
